About Mrs. Kalam Lakshmi Tulasi
Mrs. Kalam Lakshmi Tulasi
Training and Placement Head
Lakshmi heads the Training and Placement division at Rishi MS Engineering and Technology College for Women. With over 10 years of extensive IT industry experience, she has worked on Java, Dot net, Database, CRM, and Azure cloud technologies. She is certified in Oracle DBA and Azure cloud platforms.
Lakshmi has 2 years of training and placement experience in the academic space. She leverages her deep IT industry and technology experience to create effective and relevant technological and soft skill training programs for students. Her belief in the holistic development of students, with a strong emphasis on result-based outcomes, drives her approach.
Internships serve as an excellent platform to bridge the gap between academics and industry. Rishi considers this aspect crucial for making students ‘placement ready’. Lakshmi passionately drives and mentors students to take up internships and participate in innovation hackathons from the very beginning of their academic journey. Her mentoring skills, coupled with her technology background, have led to significantly higher participation in internships and hackathons among students at Rishi.
The holistic development and continual improvement process for students at Rishi is as follows:
- Initial assessment
- Identification of skill gaps
- Design custom skilling programs (Technical and behavioral)
- Execute in collaboration with industry-leading skilling partners
- Guide and encourage innovation practices
- Industry exposure through internships
- On-campus placement drives
